glad I did the midnight thing

I just finished Breaking Dawn not too long ago. After falling asleep with the book on my face I woke up shortly after midnight and killed the rest of it. I opened it last night (Saturday morning, whatever) with the intention of reading just a few chapters. I ended up staying up until 8:30 and waking up at 9:30 to get ready for work and be there by 10. I managed to read another two chapters while at work until it got busy, then I tried to read more after putting the kid to bed. Epic fail on that, hence waking up with the book where it was.

With out being spoilery and all that I have to say I liked it. Nah, loved it. I still have problems with Bella overall, but this book was awesome. She took the time to explore other areas that made me appreciate her more as a writer, although she took a twist that was in another of my favorite teen vampire series that I read when I was in my teens.

I can see a few years from now (and I mean maybe two at the most) doing an entire series re-read. For now it's comfortably in my head and makes me happy. I'm glad I loved this one. The fact that up until this book I was neutral on the series except that it kept me intrigued enough to know the ending bothered me. I just don't like feeling neutral about books. They're meant to inspire great emotion, whether it's love or hate, happiness or misery, just... something. Up until Breaking Dawn I really had nothing negative or positive to say about it. The books were easy, mindless reads that I could put down fairly quickly and still feel like I read something.

I'm not sure if I want to pick up One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest again. It's just not catching my interest. I know it's supposed to be a classic and amazing and OMG! so good! but it's just not doing it for me. If I put that away next on the bookshelf is The Ice Storm. I saw the movie years ago, long ago that I don't really remember it much, and I know it didn't catch my interest beyond one viewing so lord only knows why I bought the book. I guess I caught it really cheap, it's how I end up with most of my books :/

Yeah, not so excited about the reading options. I think I'm going to finish Howl's Moving castle first, then make up my mind. Then there are two other books that follow it, and I know I'm going to want to read those in order. Maybe I just need a break from serious literature for a while before I can take on One Flew Over again. I was supposed to read it that Madness in Literature class I took ages ago but couldn't do it then, either. Maybe it was just because I was overloaded then too? Idk.
