Help please and thank you :*

I'm having a problem playing back an avi file on my macbook. The video plays just fine but there is no audio. I downloaded a couple codecs and programs that are supposed to help but they didn't. The codecs didn't instal anywhere, they just went straight to my downloads file. I put then in my Applications file but they still don't work. Any suggestions?

I've found VLC has the best overall codec support out there. I'm not familiar enough with codec installations for Macs to give any solid advice on making a specific program work on a Mac.

It worked! Although, I really need to figure out at some point how to really use my mac... but I don't know anyone that has one.

VLC media player has always played everything I've thrown at it, and apparently they have a version for OSX.

Thank you! I have sound and can now watch How to Be and Little Ashes! I locked the icon in my dock :)

You're welcome. :) And, since it's what people usually ask: if you need screencaps, go to video and snapshot.
